Outdoor Family Portraits – Fox Family – October 2016

In September I was asked by the lovely Fox family if I was available to take some candid and some slightly more posed shots of them out for an evening walk. The idea was to take the photos during the ‘Golden Hour’ which  is regarded generally as the period shortly after sunrise or before sunset when daylight becomes softer and more orange / red in colour and creates some stunning shadow and glow effects.

After arranging a time to meet in early October and armed with my trusty Panasonic GX8 and the lovely Olympus 75mm f1.8 prime portrait lens I set out to meet them in Farndon. Once we found them all (long story A) we made our way into a few fields adjacent to the river and I started to snap away. With a lovely backdrop of the Sun going down behind them and with a few relaxed walks towards the camera and a few standing still shots in different groupings including whole family and the siblings later, not forgetting the star of the shoot the Fox family dog who was so well behaved and was a natural, we were just about finished.

The whole family were very welcoming and made the whole mini shoot feel very relaxed which I hope and feel is reflected in the resulting images.
